Our story
Meet the founder – Andrew Whittingham
While renovating his own home, Andrew struggled to find expert help restoring antique cast iron radiators—most companies offered only cosmetic fixes. Frustrated, he decided to learn the craft himself.
With a background in art, a keen eye for design, and a varied hands-on career, Andrew founded Vintage Cast Iron Radiators to combine traditional craftsmanship with genuine customer care. His aim was to restore and supply beautiful, functional radiators—done properly.
Over the last decade, Andrew has built a trusted business with a loyal following and a standout reputation for quality, earning commissions from national heritage organisations, designers, and homeowners across the UK.
Andrew on what drives the business:
"I've always believed every client deserves a personal, bespoke service. From day one, my goal was to stand apart from high-turnover, low-quality competitors by offering trusted advice, reliable radiators, and exceptional aftercare."
Meet the family - Fliss Whittingham
Fliss joined the family business to work alongside her father, Andrew, after a successful career in luxury retail. She has managed a fine art gallery and led a flagship jewellery boutique. With a strong background in customer service, design, and project management, Fliss is the first point of contact for most of our clients.
From helping you choose the right radiator style and finish, to managing large-scale commercial orders, she combines hands-on experience with deep product knowledge. And yes, she builds radiators too—because knowing how they work is key to helping you find the perfect one.
Why she joined:
"My Dad and I share the same values—offering honest advice and ensuring every client has a positive experience. We work with some of the most beautiful, functional pieces you can have in a home. It’s a privilege to be part of that."

No pressure
Visiting our York showroom? You’ll never be rushed into a decision. Our goal is to help you make the right choice for your home or project, in your own time.
Educate & inform
When you visit us, you’ll see exactly how our radiators are restored. We love sharing the knowledge and explaining how quality craftsmanship sets our radiators apart from mass-produced alternatives.
Sustainability
Restoring antique cast iron radiators is one of the most sustainable ways to heat a home. From reusing blast media to minimising waste, we run our Yorkshire workshop with the environment in mind. We also offer advice on how to improve efficiency and reduce heat loss.
Locally sourced parts
Many of the components we use are made in-house or sourced from Yorkshire’s renowned network of engineers and fabricators. If a part hasn’t been made in 100 years, chances are a Yorkshire firm can help us make it again.
Proudly passionate
We love what we do. Our York-based team brings together decades of experience, craftsmanship, and design knowledge to offer radiators that are as functional as they are beautiful.
